Carol Scott-Conner

Welcome

My fiction is written from the viewpoint of a successful woman surgeon. My short stories have been published in thirteen literary magazines ranging from the North Dakota Quarterly through The Healing Muse. A collection of these short stories was recently published as "A Few Small Moments".

I am a practicing academic surgeon; that is, a surgeon who teaches others how to become surgeons. I am interested in the whole academic surgical milieu.

My nine medical books are written for students of surgery at all levels from medical student through practitioner. They have been translated into many languages, ranging from Chinese through Greek. In these books, I emphasize surgical anatomy and careful surgical technique, as well as how to avoid complications.

Most recently, a new edition of Operative Dictations in General and Vascular Surgery was released, just in time for the American College of Surgeons meeting!
